Wednesday 27th May - Woke up before the alarm feeling wide awake, eager to get going and get bits and pieces sorted out.
We first headed to the local Doctors and picked up the forms we needed to allow us to become patients of the practise.
Then we headed into town and visited Kiwibank so we could get our bank accounts set up. This was a very easy process, far better than it would have been in the UK. We also visited the tax office to get the documentation needed to receive our IRD numbers (a requirement before we can start work). We then went to the AA to get the forms we needed for our NZ driving Licenses. Popped into the Vodafone shop to get a NZ sim. A visit to Telecom came next to get the phone line hooked up, another easy process. After that we headed off to buy some phones. Priced at $110, Stewart managed to get the guy to sell them for $90.
That night we were invited to Heathers (Stewarts niece) for lamb. Yum.
After that it was back to the house for a few beers and whiskies before bed.
