Eegads. Been a while since the last update. So, what happened? Have you missed me?
09/09/09
We celebrated 09/09/09, did you? This is the last time that there will be a set of repeating, single-digit dates until January 1st, 2101. Be sure to tune into the blog for that event.
Monthly Pics
What else? I updated the picture a month blog over at Twabble for 2008. Will hopefully get the 2009 pics done and bring it up to date.
Facebook Diet
Looks like somebody has been listening to me. They have released Facebook Lite, doing away with all the nonsense that I complained about in my previous post.
Dusk Crab Hunting
Aidan went for a paddle at Fergusson Park and ended up coming back with a couple of crabs.
Wasp or Hornet?
Which is it?
(Picture: Waspy/Hornet thing)
I dunno. Either way I don’t want them building hooses near me! They have been blindly flying about no doubt wondering where their humble little abode has disappeared to. I shall be keeping a close eye on their comings and goings over the next few weeks.
Flutterbys
It is a little strange to see butterflies gliding through the sky rather than battling with an on-going wind. Loads of them about at the moment and some of them seem to be a lot bigger than what I am used to seeing.
Fitba
You may recall that Aidan took part in the Eastern Schools cluster and qualified to go through to the Western Bay of Plenty 7’s. Unfortunately Aidan spent a lot of the tournament on the subs bench, but, they won. Well done to all involved.
Beechgrove Garden
In other news this past week or two we have been planting things….and they are growing. You may remember the grass growing from the bird seeds? Not only that but Tania discovered that radishes have also been growing quite successfully from the same packet of bird seed.
In an endeavour to make more room for veggies I was instructed to chop down a couple of tree/bush things. No idea what they look like in the summer but they are gone now, along with a whole bunch of ferns that were taking up room. Before and after:
Unfortunately, the NZ gardening tools don’t seem able to stand up to the might of a Ness Man’s strength.
Perhaps I could enter a new career path bending garden forks in a Uri Geller style. Although not as camp, or with such strange deceased friends. In fact nothing like him at all.
Apart from that, not much else has been happening. Everything moving along at a snail’s pace.
So that’s cheerio for noo. Hopefully I will have a more exciting installment next time. Oh yeah, got a job. Toodaloo.
